Professor Xu Baoci is currently a faculty member of the University of Waterloo's Earth and Environmental Sciences Department. He is erstwhile Chairman of the Geophysics Department in the Changchun College of Geology in the 1990’s, when it was the largest and most prestigious geophysics group in China. He also remains a Professor in Changchun, working in oil exploration using non-seismic geophysical methods.
